Accelerated Language Conversion Training Achieves Proficiency Goals

Fourteen U.S. Air Force Pashto linguists achieved 2/2 Persian Farsi proficiency through Ascensus Global’s innovative 30-week re-training/conversion program. Delivered primarily through virtual instruction, this program combined synchronous learning, featuring real-time interactive sessions with expert instructors, and asynchronous components, allowing students to study at their own pace with self-directed resources. Despite the challenge of Persian Farsi being a Category 3 language with minimal linguistic overlap with Pashto, the program achieved remarkable results. After just 4 months of full-time training, 5 students reached an ILR proficiency level of 1+, and 9 students attained ILR level 2. By the program’s conclusion, 11 students successfully passed the DLPT on their first attempt with a minimum score of 2/2, and several achieved 2+ or 3 scores, including one exceptional student who earned a 3/3 on their initial Persian Farsi DLPT. This program’s accelerated timeline—30 weeks compared to the typical 48-week timeline—highlighted the effectiveness of Ascensus Global’s tailored virtual instruction and immersive methodologies. With a near 80% graduation rate and zero attrition, this re-training effort demonstrates the power of Ascensus Global’s innovative, flexible language programs to achieve mission-critical goals in record time.
